The Debt Management Office is responsible for managing Suriname's Government debt. Main objectives of the SDMO are:

• Develop & implement debt management strategy

• Maintain central records of the National Debt

• Issue state loans and treasury Paper

• Pay interest and debt installments

• Prepare publications regarding the National Debt

Establish and execute the government of Suriname’s debt strategy in a transparent manner so as to satisfy the

government’s borrowing requirements within the stipulated exposure limits, minimise borrowing costs, limit risk

and support the development of the domestic capital market
